The Naugatuck Dog Park is located in Andrew Mountain Park on Andrew Mountain Road. It is on three acres and is a place to gather, make friends, and socialize while enjoying your dog(s). There is a smaller park for small and shy dogs, however your small dog is welcomed in the main park. It is an area where dogs can legally run off leash and play with other dogs under the supervision of their owners.
We welcome all dog lovers in and outside the borders of our fair Borough.
Andrew Mountain Park is a beautiful 136-acre location which also has walking trails, a picnic area, and a community garden. The park is open from dawn to dusk.
Naugatuck Dog Park’s grand opening was in 2017. Many residents had shown interest in a place that would be dedicated to allowing a dog owner to enjoy their pet off leash, promote learning and education and provide another choice for an activity. Under the direction of Naugatuck Park & Recreation, the Borough was able to construct a beautiful park for dogs.
The Dog Park Committee strives to improve the park every year. There are benches and tables to sit and watch your dog play; however, we promote staying close to your dog and being sure it is under your control at all times. There are two covered pergolas to protect visitors from the rain and sun when needed. No chemicals of any kind are used at the park. There are birdhouses and bat houses to promote natural insect control. We use diatomaceous earth, and all-natural item, for flea and tick control.
All suggestions are welcome to improve the park.
Dog park rules are listed on the signboard at the entrance to the park.
Dogs must be at least 4 months old, licensed and be up to date on shots.
Scoopers and waste bags are available to clean up after your dog.
The Naugatuck Dog Park Committee serves to promote the park. Improvements to the park are financed by donations. The committee sets up tables at various times during the year to sell dog park-branded merchandise such as t-shirts, mugs, bandanas, magnets and hats. Donations are gratefully accepted. Any amount helps.
There is also a sponsor board prominently displayed at the park entrance for donations of $100 and up. We also have a donation bin that accepts all kinds of pet foods, gently used dog clothing, and other dog-related items. These go to the local animal control or to the local food bank for those who cannot afford food for their pets.
To make a monetary donation, please send a check or money order to:

Please be sure to put DOG PARK on the memo line.
Direction to the park: From Rubber Avenue, turn onto Andrew Avenue. After the stop sign, it is the second right onto Andrew Mountain road. Approximately one mile on the left, you'll see a large silver gate. This is the entrance to the Andrew Mountain Park. The dog park is on the right, up the hill once you reach the parking lot.
