Gunntown Passive Park and Nature Preserve is open to the public 7 days a week, from sunrise to sunset. Please check back often for updates about programs being offered to the public.

 

2020 OCTOBER MOON WALK

Interested in a unique experience of quiet sounds of moonlit fields, meadows, woodlands, trails, wildlife, brooks? Nighttime autumnal occurrences can bring forth comfort and mindfulness at Gunntown Passive Park and Nature Preserve. This experience, another 2020 FULL MOON, can light up quiet trails for walking and sharing the special, natural treasures of nature. Bring a thermos of warm cider and binoculars to further explore the nightly delights of the moon's harmony and charm over this unique landscape.

 Protocols will be followed such as masks to be worn, social distancing, and sanitizers.

The Naugatuck Conservation Commission is inviting the community (artists, poets, storytellers included) to a MOONWALK on October 1st at 7-9 pm at Gunntown Passive Park and Nature Preserve.

Directions: End of Rubber Ave, Naugatuck, take a left hand turn, Preserve is on the left hand side, parking lot is on the left. (GPS 51 Gunntown Rd Naugatuck.)

 

Event will be postponed if cloudy and rescheduled for another time. Check Facebook - Naugatuck Conservation Commission for changes in schedule.

 Please remember when visiting Gunntown Passive Park and Nature Preserve to:

                                        Walk softly.

                                        Stay on trails.

                                        Anything you carry in, you must carry out.

                                        Dogs permitted on leash only.            

                              Take nothing but memories.

                      No fires or camping permitted.
