The Long Term School Facility Planning Committee is currently researching the ideal structure of our school district. Our approach has been to envision the physical assets and configuration of Naugatuck schools ten (10) to twenty (20) years from now. While there is representation on the Committee from various stakeholders, this endeavor is not a function of the Naugatuck Board of Education. The Mission Statement of the Committee is as follows:

“To formulate a facility plan to be fully implemented by the year 2025, that provides the maximum opportunity to provide a quality education for all Naugatuck students recognizing the need to provide for issues relating to configuration of the school district, new technologies, potential green construction techniques and the re-purpose of existing, obsolete school structures for other suitable uses.”

We are attempting to obtain input from as many stakeholders as possible. Such stakeholders include but are not limited to parents, students, taxpayers, teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, custodians, secretaries, cafeteria workers, business owners, and other Borough employees. While the Committee will ultimately be responsible for determining its own recommendations, we believe that doing so without public input would be counterproductive and inappropriate.

The following survey attempts to gauge stakeholder opinion on numerous topics pertinent to the Committee’s subject matter. The survey will be available in electronic form via numerous websites, and in paper format at multiple public facilities and schools. We respectfully ask that each responder submit only one (1) survey, and that all questions are answered to the best of one’s ability.

The hard copy or paper version will soon be available in various common locations as referenced above. Completed paper surveys will be collected and manually inputted to the electronic tabulations.
