The Joint Boards of Finance and Mayor and Burgesses (“Joint Boards”) will host its annual public hearing on the proposed 2013 – 2014 budget this coming Monday, May 13, 2013, beginning at 6:30 PM, at City Hill Middle School (441 City Hill Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770. The proposed budget can be viewed here in both Microsoft Excel and .pdf version.
Residents and taxpayers may comment and ask questions on various sections of the budget during the public hearing. The Joint Boards will meet again on Thursday, May 16, 2013, 6:30 PM, at Town Hall (229 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770) to adopt the 2013 – 2014 budget. The meeting to adopt the budget is open to the public, but there is not comment period. All adopted budgets are subject to the referendum process defined by Naugatuck’s Charter.
The 2013 – 2014 budget will include the first revaluation of real property in Naugatuck since 2007. The database containing information about revalued, Naugatuck real property values can be accessed here.
Those with access to Microsoft Excel or applicable conversion software can calculate changes to both their residential real property tax bills and motor vehicle tax bills based on the proposed budget as it currently is constituted.
